An Ocean of Change
Nearly each week I get to help someone tweak or completely change their appearance. Nothing is more liberating. Usually it's just one on one, I don't allow any other outside personal influencers to be present, unless it is an assistant.
First we start off with how the person wants to be viewed and why. What do they really want the world to see them as? If they want to change from what they look like now, what is making them want to change? Why do they have a closet filled with items that don't represent who they are?
Little by little we whittle away the old garments that have kept the person in bondage to how other people have forced them to be seen in the world. And then something great happens. A spark comes across their face. They get to start to connect who they are on the outside, with who they really are on the inside. And an ocean of change starts to happen. They seem more at ease and more confident in who they are.
It's easy to let the years go by and let the world mould you into who it thinks you should be. Society, trends, and even well meaning friends all have an influence on how we dress and how we view ourselves. But, the world finds memorable those who can most be themselves. Those who can be truly unique and true to who they are.
So tomorrow, when you get dressed, take a good look at what you're putting on. Is it you, or someone else? Find what you like, away from distractions and other people's input and take a fresh look at yourself. It's time to find out who you really are.
